Our vision is to be innovative with our heritage in developing a relevant and sustainable future for Coldharbour Mill.
There has been a mill at Coldharbour, Uffculme, since the time of the Domesday Book, with the current woollen mill in continuous production since 1797. Today Coldharbour Mill is run as a charity (no. 1123386) and was described by English Heritage in a Historic Buildings Report as "probably one of the best-preserved textile mill complexes in the country. It retains the full range of buildings and power system features which characterised the development of the 19th century textile mill with much of the machinery that was used at the site in the 20th century."
With an unrivalled collection of heritage machinery, social & textile archives and wide-ranging power sources still in daily use, the Mill is now thriving, providing education and visitor experiences as well as volunteering opportunities that help promote wellbeing and combat social isolation.
